What
is EFT?
EFT is an almost unbelievably simple concept and technique,
yet it is also an incredibly powerful technique for healing
when used with intuition, creativity and artistry.
It is based on the concept that all negative emotions are
caused by a disruption or block in the energy system.
Let's run that one again. ALL negative emotions - guilt, sadness,
doubt, anger, bitterness, rage, shame and the rest - are caused
by an energy disruption!
Left untreated, those energy blocks tend to effect our
health, relationships, sense of well-being and enjoyment
of life. This also explains why we can't just use the power
of our logical thinking minds to change
our
energy-driven
behaviour.
A thought or memory can immediately trigger an energetic response
felt as a negative emotion and we are virtually powerless
to stop ourselves reacting in ways we would rather not. Have
you
ever had that experience of feeling like you're watching
yourself carrying on, maybe shouting or ranting, and yet deep
inside
you're wondering why on earth you are behaving like that?
It's like we've been hijacked by our own emotional energy!
So we
need to use something that can release the energy block and
that
is
what EFT does so well.
The process involves recalling a thought or memory whilst
tapping on energy meridian points on the head, upper body and
hands which gently releases the energy blockage. What we find
is that the memory is retained but the automatic link to the
emotional
energy is broken.
The more work we do to clear these emotional triggers, the
more we are able to feel in control of our reactions, and settle
into inner peace and well-being. We become emotionally free.
